Doireann Joyce
Validation Manager, Merck,
Doireann Joyce has a degree in Food Science from UCC and attained her postgraduate qualification from UL in Computer Science. She started her career in Merck in 2000 as a Validation Scientist. Following a career break to travel the world in 2004, she returned to Merck as a Validation Engineer working on major projects that focused on transferring new processes and products to the Cork site. This role allowed her to continue to travel to multiple continents including the United States, Asia and Europe, representing the Merck Group as a Validation SME . During her career in Merck, Doireann has held various positions such as Validation Supervisor, Quality Manager, Project Lead and is currently the Validation Manager for Merck’s expanding Carrigtwohill site and their new Blarney site, which is under construction.
