Dr Emma Owens
Postdoctoral researcher University College Dublin School of Mathematics and Statistics,
Emma is a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Mathematics and Statistics in University College Dublin working with schools around the country to develop maths education practices in secondary school classrooms. She completed her PhD in Dublin City University which focused on investigating and developing the capacities of teachers in relation to the teaching of mathematical problem-solving. While undertaking this research, Emma worked as a maths and PE teacher in a secondary school in Dublin. From both her teaching and researching of maths, Emma is passionate about encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM. This segment is in association with Deloitte
