Hazel Murray

Hazel is a cyber security researcher with research interests in password security, authentication, local differential privacy and quantum cryptography. She completed her PhD in Mathematics at Maynooth University under an Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholarship. Her Phd research focused on improving authentication for users via better understanding password use and abuse. During her PhD, Hazel worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Chicago as part of their Security and Privacy Research Group. Hazel investigated practical implementations and limitations of local differential privacy. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Maynooth University in 2016. Hazel is presently a cybersecurity lecturer with the Cyber Skills team at Munster Technological University.
