Kate studied Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Engineering at Munster Technological University. She enjoyed the challenges that maths, physics and chemistry gave her in school and knew she wanted to pursue a career in this area, as analytical thinking and problem solving played to her strengths and interests. During her degree, Kate undertook a 6-month work placement in Little Island, Cork as part of PepsiCo’s Internship programme. During this time, she supported and led a variety of projects across a range of engineering disciplines. Upon completion of her degree Kate returned to PepsiCo on a two-year graduate programme which involves two rotations across varying disciplines within the engineering team. Kate has just finished her first rotation with the Base Capital Team, where she was leading Plant based projects in the manufacturing facility. She is now moving into PepsiCo’s Strategic Capital Team where she will be supporting global project implementation. Kate enjoys working in teams both inside of and out of work. In her spare time she enjoys playing GAA with her local club and coaching gymnastics.
